Discover The Opportunity

Decide If It's For You

Get Started!

You entered nursing to make a difference...

You did NOT step into leadership to manage disconnection.

You stepped in to build strong teams.

To create environments where people feel respected, engaged, and able to do their best work.

And yet…

Somewhere along the way, it started to feel harder than it should.

• You’re trying, but nothing seems to shift in a meaningful, lasting way.

• Your team feels disengaged, and you’re not sure what will actually make a difference.

• You lack the resources for another “initiative” that adds pressure without solving the problem.

You’re not alone.

And you’re not doing it wrong.

You’ve likely just never been given a clear, practical way to lead belongingness.

This course is designed to change that.

What This Course Is About

Cultivating Belongingness: An Essential Leadership Skill is a 1.0 contact hour, on-demand webinar designed for nurse leaders who want to strengthen connection, engagement, and culture without adding unsustainable expectations to their role.

This is not about being nicer.

And it’s not about adding more to your already full plate.

It’s about learning how to create the conditions where people can show up, contribute, and stay.

In today’s healthcare environments, leaders are navigating:

• Increasing workload and competing demands

• Emotional exhaustion and lingering strain from sustained pressure

• Teams that feel fragmented, transactional, or disconnected

When belongingness is strained, it shows up as:

• Disengagement and low morale

• Fractured relationships and communication breakdowns

• Reduced trust, collaboration, and psychological safety

• Increased turnover, and leaders carrying the weight of it

This isn’t a motivation problem.

It’s a relational and cultural problem that requires a different kind of leadership clarity.

When belongingness is intentionally cultivated:

• People engage more fully in their work

• Teams communicate more openly and effectively

• Trust and psychological safety increase

• Retention, satisfaction, and collaboration improve

Belongingness is not an extra. It is the condition that allows people and teams to perform at their best and leaders stop feeling like they are holding everything together alone.

A clear, evidence-informed approach

What makes this course different?

This is not another culture training that leaves you with ideas but no traction.

1.0 Contact Hour For RNs, LPNs, APRNs:

Maureen Metzger is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Florida State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 1.0 contact hours applicable for APRN, RN or LPN relicensure. Florida State Board of Nursing Provider Number: 50-53447.

Course Description:

Belongingness is a foundational, yet often underdeveloped, leadership competency in nursing practice environments. As nurse leaders navigate increasing complexity, workforce strain, and rising expectations for performance and professionalism, many teams are experiencing erosion of connection, reflected in low morale, disengagement, fractured relationships, and difficulty sustaining healthy workplace cultures.

Cultivating belongingness creates the conditions in which individuals and teams can engage meaningfully, uphold professional standards, contribute fully, and thrive over time. Across clinical and academic settings, belongingness is associated with improved collaboration, psychological safety, retention, and overall wellbeing—outcomes that are essential for sustainable nursing leadership.

In this 1.0 contact hour CNE course, participants will explore core concepts related to belongingness, examine characteristics and evidence-based outcomes of environments with high levels of belongingness, and identify realistic, evidence-informed leadership actions that strengthen connection, trust, and engagement.

Emphasis is placed on practical application within leaders’ spheres of influence, recognizing that meaningful culture change is an ongoing process requiring intention, consistency, and shared responsibility.

"It's not the load that breaks you down.

It's the way you carry it."
